Ludo

Ludo.  We love this man.  He was one of the first people we met in this country and he’s helped us so much over the years with our business and has remained a dear friend.  Now he has a family and we just had to see him.  We had dinner with them on Sunday, the day after the concert.  We were tired, they were tired, but it was the only day we could get together.  The kids, seven year old Chloe and three year old Gioelle, were very sleepy and a little bit grumpy.  I love that kids are so up front about the way they feel.  You know exactly where you stand with them.

We met them for dinner in Umbertide, about 30 minutes away.  It was a great place, Casagrande, and was packed.  Fortunately Ludo made a reservation and our table was waiting.  We had a feast – eggs with truffles; some kind of prosciutto, lardo, fried bread thing that was wonderful; artichokes; beef, pasta – we had it all.  And the kids really came alive when dessert came out.  Nothing like a little sugar and chocolate to put a smile on your face.

We had a great time catching up with them and hearing about his newest business venture, the kids’ first day at school, and how things are going.  It was hectic, but wonderful to visit with them.  There’s never enough time when we’re here so we have to make the most of it.

Ciao, Ludo – see you next trip!

I'd love to hear from you - what did you think of this post?
